Ketu is known as the 'inlet point' for past life karmas. Here the word karma is referring to past life completed actions. The prior activity of the soul comes through in this lifetime as unconscious behavior patterns, naturally familiar due to the prior experiences. The past life actions have created a 'groove' in the soul's memory..
Not everything is better because of technology. Some things were actually simpler to do 50 years ago. It was easier to meet new people and find your significant other (in life â not on technology). It was cheaper to see a movie and to buy a house. In the past, it was easier to support your family with one income.

A roll in the hay might keep you from tossing and turning at night. Thatâs the takeaway from a new survey presented at the SLEEP 2023 annual meeting this week in Indianapolis. In the survey, 53 adults were questioned about their sleep habits. The questions covered issues like sleep quality, sex and orgasms and the use of sleep medications. âLittle scientific data exists around the impact of sex and orgasm on sleep quality,ââŹÂ lead author Dr. Douglas Kirsch, medical director at Atrium Health in Charlotte, North Carolina, said in a news release. The study authors noted that sex is often portrayed in the media as conducive to a good nightâs rest, but the link hasnât been examined by scientists. Most of the survey participants were fairly young 89% were between 25 and 49. And 66% of the participants reported using sleep medication at some point in their lives to get better rest. Sleep medication doesnât help as much as sex, say a majority of survey Images/iStockphoto Sex has many health benefits, including a good nightâs Images/iStockphoto Other research backs up that high-usage figure In January, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a report revealing that in 2020, more than 8% of people had used sleep medication within the previous 30 days. Women in the CDC report were slightly more likely to use sleeping pills than men versus respectively, and medication use increased with age. And had used sleep medication daily for the past 30 days, a figure many experts find alarming. Sleep medication should not be used for an extended period of time, experts Images/iStockphoto âSleeping pills have a lot of side effects,â Nishi Bhopal, a psychiatrist and sleep expert, told CNN, while also noting that insomnia also has a serious impact on health. ââŹĹItââŹâ˘s really important that we support patients in the best way that we can because insomnia can lead to depression and anxiety,ââŹÂ Bhopal said. ââŹĹSo sleeping pills can be really useful in that context, but itââŹâ˘s not recommended to use them for more than two In the SLEEP 2023 survey, 75% of the participants reported sleeping better after sex/orgasm, and 64% felt that a sleeping pill had a similar or worse effect on their sleep. ââŹĹWhile this data is quite preliminary, it was interesting how often sex was used to aid in sleep,ââŹÂ said study co-author Seema Khosla, medical director of the North Dakota Center for Sleep in Fargo.
Do you think that your life in the past was better than the present? Do you miss the âgood old days?â Quite often people, not just old people, but people of all ages, yearn to the past, believing it was a better time. They think and feel that their childhood, adolescence, and the time they were young was a great time. A great number of people think and believe that everything was better in the past than it is now. This sometimes might be true, but not always. If you analyze these thoughts and feelings in an unprejudiced manner, you might arrive to the conclusion that your earlier years were not as great as you imagine. I have a certain theory about this, which I would like to share with you. Why People Believe the Past Was a Better Time People do not yearn to the actual past, to the circumstances and situations they lived through, which sometimes were good, and sometimes not so good. They yearn to something else. They yearn to the period when they were quite young, when they didnât worry about money, work and possessions. They yearn to the times when they had no worries and problems, when grown up people took care of everything. This past was a carefree period, and this is what they are missing now. There is another thing they yearn to, albeit unconsciously. Most people, from the age of about 16 to about 30 have dreams, expectations, zest and energy. They are still young and the future is before them. At this age, often, there is a certain feeling of euphoria and great expectations. This is the time when people are at the start of their life, still able to think big, before settling down, getting a job, getting married, and getting lost in the hustle and bustle of life. When young, people use their imagination and daydream about a fabulous future, but as time rolls by, they forget their dreams and donât use their imagination as before. When you think about the past, the feelings of joy, happiness and expectation related to it awaken, and you feel good. Then, you associate those feelings with the past, and get the impression that the past was a better time. Actually, what you are yearning to is to the feelings of euphoria that you experienced when young, to the dreams and expectations, which are gone now. Motivate Yourself with Your Past Feelings and Expectations My advice to you is to awaken those feelings and thoughts intentionally, and to associate them with the present, even if your circumstances are far from your expectations. No matter how old or young you are, where you live, and under what circumstances you are living, you can use these thoughts and feelings to motivate you. You can use these past memories to give your self a boost of energy, ambition, and the desire to progress in life. You can bring back the euphoria and great expectations of a great life that you experienced when you were young. Then, allow them to push you forward, to improve your life. You can use these feelings to strengthen your motivation and ambition, and for improving your life. Find the good in your past, and use it to build a better future. âThe past is a stepping stone, not a millstone.â â Robert Plant âDo not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.â â Buddha If you enjoyed reading my articles, you can thank me by clicking on the button below!Buy Me a Coffee About the Author My name is Remez Sasson. If you were able to accurately evaluate life today against life one hundred years ago, one thousand years ago, or even 10 thousand years ago, would we be able to determine which is better? Humans have a tendency to overvalue what they know. We find it easy to believe that our country is the best. Or that our motherâs cooking canât be beat. The neighborhood we grew up in was better than any other. Similarly, we may believe that life today is better than the way people lived in centuries past. But is that actually true? It is certainly true that our mastery of travel makes just about every corner of the globe is accessible. I can pack a bag, catch a flight, and be halfway around the world within 24 hours. Assuming, of course, no travel restrictions. A trip to an average grocery store yields a remarkable variety of produce, and an almost dizzying array of processed food. The internet makes access to information nearly ubiquitous, and allows us to communicate with people without thought to geographical limitations. Lifespans are longer, literacy rates are higher, some previously deadly diseases have been all but eliminated. However, each of these things have downsides. Easy travel is at the expense of burning fossil fuels, which is contributing to climate change. The same can be said about produce that travels thousands of miles to those well-stocked grocery stores. And all that processed food has brought about a crisis in obesity. While communication is easier with the internet, social media apps are making us more polarized and as such we hear each other less. What good is a longer lifespan if we use those extra hours sitting in traffic jams and overall leading more stressed lifestyles? Are the negatives worth the positives? Is life today better than in the past? Related questions How have we changed? Past, present, or future? Is it fair to judge the past with morals of today? Are we too busy? Post navigation
